The ArtemiaVita product was introduced to the market at the beginning of 2017. A new Brine Shrimp product „Made in Germany“, which significantly simplifies the culture of Artemia for the user and increases hygiene. The big advantages of ArtemiaVita are:
No more separation of eggshells
ArtemiaVita consists of decapsulated eggs in a salt solution. These are incubated in the same way as dried Artemia eggs, with the advantage that the nauplii can be fed immediately after hatching and the time required to separate the eggshells is eliminated.
High-quality live food
Since the nauplii open only a thin membrane when hatching and no longer have to crack the thick Artemia shell (chorion), they consume less energy when hatching. After hatching, the nauplii contain correspondingly more essential nutrients, such as omega-3 fatty acids.
Raising hygienically fish larvae
The Artemia eggs in ArtemiaVita are released from the Artemia shells during the production process and filled in sterile bottles. From our experience, the Artemia shells represent a major vector for pathogens.
Immediately hatchable
Shake the bottle vigorously once, dose the desired amount with the enclosed dosing spoon or a measuring cup and put it into the incubator. No more clogging of the eggs during laborious weighing, no more fine scales necessary…
95%-99% hatching percentage
For the decapsulation process we use very high quality eggs as raw material, which are further enhanced by our process. And if a few eggs do not hatch or hatch too late, they can easily be eaten and digested by fish larvae. So there is really no need for further separation after incubation.
The biggest criticism of ArtemiaVita was the low shelf life of 3-4 months. The cheap and efficient procurement of large quantities for hobby breeders and aquaculture operators was obviously made much more difficult.
We have finally solved this problem by an elaborate refinement of the product. ArtemiaVita can now be stored at -18°C for more than 12 months. The good thing about it is that the solution does not freeze and can be dosed immediately at any time!
